Side Quest: Lost And Found

Quest Accepted!

Side Quest: Licensed To Reave

Quest Accepted!
Nothing seems shady about this at all.

While passing through the Seventh Sage, you'll come across a man named Mordyn who has an offer you simply couldn't refuse.

Well, you could, but you'd be losing out on a sweet 110 gil. All you have to do is help out the captain of the Kraken's Arms.

Yes, they are a pirate crew, according to Mordyn. No need to be worried, right...?

You named your ship Misery? What a cheery bunch.

The captain of the Kraken's Arm, Carvallain, welcomes you warmly. He trades in "spices" that many consider rare or valuable. His request for you is simple enough, though.

Simply take two pouches of his "spices" to hand out to Ginnade at the Coral Tower and Lyngsath at the Bismarck.

Deliver two samples and report back. Simple.

Firesand? That isn't just another word for spice?

The first goes to Ginnade at the Coral Tower. Dropping it off with her causes her to reveal that the "spice" sample is actually firesand. It would seem our pirate friend uses the term "spice" to refer to literally anything he brings in. It is easy to assume he raided a Garlean Empire ship to acquire it... A dangerous feat indeed.

One sample left to deliver.

A root? He really does use the word "spice" for everything.

The second sample has to be taken to Lyngsath over at the Bismarck, located just a short distance to the west of the Seventh Sage across a short bridge.

This time it is a root instead of firesand, and not just any root either. It was grown in Othard, which is under imperial rule at the moment.

Just how did he get it, anyway...?

So there are good pirates running around?

When you return to Carvallain, he discusses how times have changed for pirates, and that he changed with those times. He now operates within the law, using his talents to attack enemies of Limsa Lominsa. A heavily-armed trader indeed...

Side Quest: A Thousand Words

Quest Accepted!
And this all happened nary a bell ago!

It would seem that someone had the gall to pull a dine-and-dash on the Bismarck. Eating a tasteful meal and running away without paying for it... What a despicable way to be.

Latisha asks you to check in with the cook who made the "free" meal, R'sushmo. Be warned, she is... Slightly miffed about the ordeal.

Yeesh. Limsa Lominsa cooks are scary.

R'sushmo can be found on the other side of the room, positively fuming over what happened. Speak to her and you'll receive an artist's rendition of the man in question's face to take to Godebert at Coral Tower.

Hopefully he can resolve this before she becomes even more violent...

Believe me, the fact she didn't set the paper on fire while drawing on it is astonishing in and of itself.
Godebert's job seems difficult.

The drawing is apparently quite awful. Godebert can't make heads or tails of who it is supposed to be, and concludes it would be easiest if R'sushmo came over in person and described the person.

Time to go back and deliver the good news.

Oh dear.
There are no words for your artistic skills, though.

As expected, she is less than thrilled about the hassle. But look at the bright side!

...It's no longer your problem.

Side Quest: A Sheepish Request

Quest Accepted!
Not good for business to run out of a main product.

Just outside the Bismarck you will find a worried woman in need of help. It would appear the diner she works for is in dire need of some fresh lamb for an upcoming important dinner.

She's willing to reward you if you could go speak to Abylfarr about it, so it is off to Bulwark Hall under the Drowning Wench.

Side Quest: Duty Calls

Quest Accepted!
Who wants to deliver some ledgers?

In Mealvaan's Gate, more easily located as the Arcanist's Guild on the western side of Limsa Lominsa Lower Decks, you'll find P'tahjha on the left side of the counter.

This quest is readily available if you turned in Proper Procedure just beforehand. She needs you to deliver a couple of ledgers, the first one being to Sundhimal in the plaza.

The Bismarck is just behind Sundhimal.

Head through both branches Hawker's Alley to reach the plaza, where you'll find Sundhimal standing near the gate leading to the Upper Decks. Speaking to him will turn in the first ledger, and he'll point you in the direction of the Bismarck.

One less diner pirates can safely chow down at.

Head to the Upper Decks through the gate just behind Sundhimal to find yourself just outside the Bismarck. If you head to the left, you'll find the entrance to the diner.

Heading inside and to the counter in the back corner, you'll find Latisha. Give her the ledger, and your delivery job is done.

Side Quest: The Right Price

Quest Accepted!

This will give you a chance to check out the stores.

Swozblaet has a job for you. He oversees price ranges and ensures an equal-opportunity marketplace. Fair enough, but he is rather busy lately, so he asks you to go around and check in at a few stores across both stretches of Hawker's Alley to ensure their prices are fair.

Three stores in total, and then you check in with Baensyng at the opposite end to deliver the intel. The three stores are...

Iron Thunder, in East Hawker's Alley on your way out. He'll be on the right.

Kyokyoroon, located right around the left corner as you enter West Hawker's Alley.
And lastly Syneyhil, on the right shortly after Kyokyoroon.
The markets are fine now, but pirates are always a problem.

Shortly after meeting with Syneyhil, you'll find Baensyng at the end of West Hawker's Alley on the left. Doing the quest in the order shown causes all events to basically be in a single path, making for an easy quest completion. Speaking of quest completion...

Side Quest: Proper Procedure

Quest Accepted!
Shivershakes?

Sweetnix Rosycheeks can be found just before entering East Hawker's Alley from the plaza. His quest is a simple back and forth, as he is a bit scared to deliver a letter to the Gate Of Mealvaan.

What is there to be scared of, though? Best head over and find out.

Turns out there was no need for fear at all.

P'tahjha is found in Mealvaan's Gate past West Hawker's Alley, to the left of the Arcanist's Guild.

Apparently, being a foreign merchant means filing taxes monthly to operate within the city limits. And... That's it.

P'ahjha deals with this timid merchant every month... Certainly sounds 'taxing' enough to me.

Jinglyshine?

Return to Sweetnix to complete the quest. He hasn't moved, so this was more or less going from one person to another and back to the first. Easy as they come.

Side Quest: Suspiciously Sober

Quest Accepted!
Get it? Nugget? Because seafarers love gold?

By turning in the quest Making A Name, Ahldskyf makes another request of you. In exchange for your earlier help, he shares information in regards to a surprisingly well-funded sailor making rounds without doing the normal sailor things.

Such as spending what money he would normally have getting drunk.

Glazrael is standing guard at East Hawker's Alley.

In the spirit of cooperation, Ahldskyf asks you to take this information over to a Yellowjacket guard named Glazrael.

She can be found just on the other side of the plaza, under the flag bearing the coin purse insignia.

From one to another to another...

Once you deliver the information to Glazrael, she is thankful for your efforts, and asks you to Frydwyb further into East Hawker's Alley.

Just like with the previous step of this quest, it is simply carrying information from Point A to Point B.

News travels fast when you offer someone enough EXP.

Heading into East Hawker's Alley, keep your focus to the right of the hall until you come across the Retainer Vocate's desk. Frydwyb works here, and will take the information to heart and keep an eye out for any unsavory sorts.

Story Quest: Close To Home

Quest Accepted!
Time to get a feel for Limsa Lominsa!
To begin this section of the story, you have to speak to Baderon in the Drowning Wench. He informs you that there are three tasks you need to complete to become more aware of your surroundings.

Basically, these tasks will give you the chance to get to know the city's layout. You must meet with a merchant, attune yourself to the aetheryte, and check in with the guild of your class.

Aetheryte crystals are pretty huge!

Using the nearby lift operated by Skaenrael, you can go down to the lower floor. If you leave through the door to your left, you'll find the mammoth crystal looming over you.

Attuning to aetheryte is a basic necessity to anyone travelling across Eorzea, as you'll soon discover.

The Return spell is unlocked!

A Yellowjacket named Sundhimal will approach you as you examine the crystal. He's kind enough to go over the importance of the aetheryte network, and you'll gain access to the Return spell as a result.

Return allows you to teleport to whichever town you have set as your Home, which is done by interacting with large aetheryte crystals such as this.

Two of three objectives are rather close to each other.

Heading across the plaza and into East Hawker's Alley you'll find Swozblaet on the right side of the hallway. Talking to him will enable you to complete your second of three tasks. All that remains now is checking in with your guild. Depending on your class, this means going to one of two places.

Arcanists can turn in their guild quest much sooner.

Heading through Hawker's Alley towards the west will have you reach Mealvaan's Gate, which doubles as the Arcanist's Guild. This is all the way on the westernmost area of the Lower Decks. Murie the guild receptionist is who to speak to.

Marauders, however, will require more legwork to reach their guild.

Marauders will find their guild at the northern tip of the map.

When you reach Limsa Lominsa's Upper Decks, you'll find the Marauder's Guild at the northernmost tip of the map in Coral Tower.

On the left side of the room is the guild receptionist, Blauthota. Speak to him to begin guild activities as a Marauder.

All three tasks are now complete!

Side Quest: Making A Name

Quest Accepted!

Sounds like these are important herbs.

This is one of the introductory quests for Limsa Lominsa, located in the Drowning Wench. Apparently, someone went and dumped some herbs on the lower floor of the tower, and if Niniya here is right, they are dangerous drugs. Well, we had better take care of that quick-like!

Speak to Skaenrael nearby to take the lift down to where you need to go.

An easy task to pick them all up.

Simply put, starting from the base of the lift you will find a trail of glowing objects. Picking them all up will finish your task, so start from the lift and work your way towards the door.

Outside you'll find Ahldskyf, who you must speak to to turn in the quest.

Somnus will likely be playing a role in the future...

It turns out Niniya may have been right about these being shady as all get-out. Dream flowers, as they are called, are used in the creation of a drug known as somnus...

Which apparently lulls anyone who smells it into the "sleep of death". Yikes.

Just a jest! A jest!

Fortunately this wasn't the case. Ahldskyf points out he was just joking around with you, and that these herbs were just bits of Althyk lavender, and are completely harmless.

...Funny joke. Funny indeed.

Main Story Walkthrough: Prologue (Limsa Lominsa)

Welcome to Limsa Lominsa!

Ryssfloh, one of Limsa Lominsa's finest.

For those choosing to begin your journey as a Marauder or an Arcanist, your story begins in the port city of Limsa Lominsa.

Trade and piracy are big around these parts, so it'd be best if you stepped carefully around the beautiful white limestone of the city's pathways. Before long you are approached by a man named Ryssfloh.

The lift is inside, operated by Grehfarr.

Ryssfloh points out that you need to register at the Adventurer's Guild, and he kindly directs you to the lift so you can head to a bar known as the Drowning Wench. The bar doubles as the Adventurer's Guild, and you'll find yourself routinely coming back here quite often.

Make your way to the lift and head on up.

Baderon operates the Drowning Wench, and by extension, the guild.

In the Drowning Wench, you will find Baderon running the place. Speaking with him will result in a brief conversation introducing you, and of course, completing your registration.

He'll ask for your name, and a clip will play that results in your first real encounter with the Yellowjackets.

Time to get to know the city.

Baderon will come to the conclusion that you need time to get used to the layout of the city and the inner-workings throughout. What better way than through a number of delivery tasks?

He asks you to check out the town's aetheryte, a guild related to your class, and to check in on a merchant friend.

Niniya is literally right over your shoulder.

Another person he mentions is a woman named Niniya, a veteran adventurer who aims to help you see the sights by requesting you to perform a task for her.

Picking up some herbs isn't a problem, so go ahead and make your way back down through the lift that you entered with.

I wonder which way I should go...?

Getting off the lift, you'll see a trail of glimmering lights. This is your introduction to field interactions. These glimmers are interaction points, and by examining them, you'll gather the herbs needed for Niniya's request.

Follow them out the door and you'll find quite the sight before you...

Be sure to attune yourself to new crystals whenever possible.

The massive spinning crystal you'll find outside is an aetheryte crystal. By attuning to it, you'll be able to teleport here whenever you need using the Return spell, which immediately brings you back to whichever crystal you have assigned as your home. Every town has one, so be sure to keep an eye out for new ones!

Looks like more people need a hand.

Before running off, there are more people in the plaza in need of your assistance, including Ahldskyf with an information delivery and J'nasshym who has a delivery of her own for a secret group known simply as the Dutiful Sisters...

Well, we all have to start somewhere, right?

Goblins have the most amusing manner of speech.

Cross the plaza and you'll find two more objectives. The first is a goblin offering a quest by the name of Sweetnix Rosycheeks. You'll have to deliver a letter, but before that you have another task to finish up.

Just behind Sweetnix is Glazrael, so you may as well continue that quest as you enter East Hawker's Alley.

It's nice when quests are bundled together.

Enter the hallway and you'll find all manner of shops and services. Many are of little use to you now, but don't shy away from checking in on a few of them. After all, you may find yourself coming back later.

On the right you'll find a couple of quest points, so be sure to stop by.

Swozblaet covers the marketplace for you.

Talking to Frydwyb and Swozblaet continues their respective questlines, one being finished and the other carrying on. Stick around and Swozblaet will make another request of you, which will conveniently be along the path you are heading anyway.

Complete his quest by speaking to merchants along the way and continue onwards to the Arcanist's Guild on the other side of West Hawker's Alley.

Mealvaan's Gate is just across the bridge.

While here you can continue a couple of quests, depending on your class. If you are an Arcanist, you can continue the main story here. Marauders will have to wait to continue their quest until reaching the Lower Decks. While carrying out Sweetnix's quest, you'll also pick up a new one from P'tahjha that will have you making yet another delivery.

Don't worry, we'll get to the Dutiful Sisters soon.

After turning in and picking up quests as necessary, turn around and head back to the plaza. There is no further business in Hawker's Alley, but drop by Sweetnix back in the plaza to complete his task.

Continue forward to Sundhimal to continue with his quest, now taking us at last to the Upper Decks.

Map transitions, such as the Lowers Decks to the Upper Decks, is shown as a blue line of dots. Just walk right on through!
An errand boy's job is never done...

You'll find yourself just outside the Bismarck once you head through the gate, and just to your left will be none other than H'lahono with yet another request for you.

Fortunately this, like many of these quests, is right along the way you were heading already.

To be fair, it is a pretty scenic route.

The Bismarck, also known as the Culinarian's Guild, can be entered through a door to the left. Or you could take a slightly longer route around the right to take in more of the sights.

Either way, you'll find more quest targets in the back corner of the diner... Including more legwork offered by Latisha.

There are so many bridges in Limsa Lominsa.

It is time to wrap up the initial mission placed on us. Remember those three tasks given to us by Baderon? While Arcanists are finished by this point, Marauders are not.

Take the upper bridge away from the Bismarck and head over to the Seventh Sage, an herb store that happens to have some shady patrons hanging out with a shady request for you.

From there, just head north to find the guild.

Actually yes, there is a lot you can help me with.

At the most northern point of the map you'll find Coral Tower, which is where both the Yellowjackets are headquartered as well as where you'll find the Marauder's Guild. Not only will Marauders be able to complete their third task, but plenty of quests will have you continuing through here by speaking to various people along the left side of the room...

And of course, Ginnade will have yet another task to add on to the pile.
